Ethos Overview

Creating an open and inclusive community where any child can learn through play is at the heart of what we do.

We welcome every family and work to support the needs of anyone who wishes to attend our Foundation stage setting.

We celebrate differences and promote special interests to help nurture every child’s development, endeavouring to meet every child’s needs to ensure they are encouraged in their abilities at every step.

Our key structure of education is ‘Learning Through Play’.

Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage….

“Each area of learning and development must be implemented through planned, purposeful play and through a mix of adult-led and child-initiated activity. Play is essential for children’s development, building their confidence as they learn to explore, to think about problems, and relate to others. Children learn by leading their own play, and by taking part in play which is guided by adults. Practitioners must respond to each child’s emerging needs and interests, guiding their development through warm, positive interaction.”
